This is a significant win for Boracay and for tourism in the Philippines when looking at the competition that ranged from Bali to Hawaii’s Big Island, Kaui and Maui and all the way to Sicily and British Columbia. The wide range of competitors for World’s Best Island are mostly well known big names, so for Boracay to win this honor is a sign that this island is one of the top island vacation spots in the world.

Also significant is the cost of travelling to Boracay and the prices of accommodation and entertainment in the resort island. When researching the range of prices for an island vacation, the difference between resorts in Boracay and some of the other top competitors is huge.

Boracay is 196 miles south of Manila just off the tip of the Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Phillipines. Most of the popular Boracay Island Resorts are also receiving numerous awards. However, this year’s win illustrates Boracay’s continued excellence as a high-end island getaway.
